‘The Drysdale Confession’ – what a wonderful book. The author has found a very good way of making the reader want to know what is going to happen next by leaving a ‘cliff hanger’ at strategic moments. The length of the chapters and the book itself are just right and the storyline is very good. Just the right number of characters. Keep writing.

About the Author: I was born in Oxford, growing up in Henley-on-Thames where my father was chief clerk at the Midland Bank. Later, following his promotion to manager, the family moved to Derby where I began my working career in an industrial boiler making factory. Then, and after deciding that my career needed a boost, I exchanged overalls for a suit and joined the staff of the Westminster Bank, working in London’s West End as a cashier. There I was privileged to meet interesting and famous people: peers of the realm, theatrical, film, radio and television personalities, one “pop” star, a cabinet minister and my wife to be.
Planning marriage, and unable to afford London property prices, we left the bright lights and headed for Yorkshire where I embarked upon a rewarding and fast-moving career in the retail motor trade. A career that took me through sales, sales management and general management before joining a major Japanese car importer as an after sales manager. Then, years later, I established my own business management company providing specialist consultancy services to the accident repair industry.
Hobbies & Leisure: Sport has always been important to me, from amateur boxing in Derby and running for the Westminster bank’s cross-country team. Then, following our relocation to Lincolnshire I started rowing, competing competitively in eights and fours, eventually owning my own sculling boat. In this I competed eight times in the annual 31-mile Lincoln to Boston marathon, rowed on the river Witham. Now, reduced to being an “armchair expert,” I enjoy walking, reading, tackling DIY jobs and traveling abroad. Closer to home I enjoy visiting Cornwall and following up on their tin mining heritage. Add to that spending precious time with our sons and grandchildren, all of whom live locally.
Writing – the future. When setting out to write The Drysdale Confession I was determined to produce a fast-moving page turner. Hopefully, I’ve achieved this, and the same style has been replicated in my second novel, The Far Reaches, a sequel to my first novel which is due for publication in 2024. A third Robert Vere novel is already taking shape, with publication also planned for 2024. Lastly, I hope you enjoy reading my work as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Thank you.
